The "Charter for Sustainable Cleaning" symbol can be found on an increasing number of select products. The Charter is a voluntary, pan-European initiative of the detergent and cleaning agent industry. Its aim is to promote sustainability over and above the legally required level.

The principle of sustainability is based on achieving a balance of ecological, economical and social principles in the development and manufacturing of detergents and cleaning agents.

Independent, external auditors conduct inspections to ensure that the level of sustainability in the development and manufacturing of products is being complied with to a sufficient level and that these products are being produced safely and environmentally friendly.

All brands that bear this trademark originate from companies who have committed themselves to the "Charter for Sustainable Cleaning".
